To make the throw, take one arm back with the ball in that hand. Point the other arm at your target. Take a step with the leg opposite your throwing arm and swing your throwing arm in a wide arc out toward your teammate. As that arm goes up, your outstretched pointing arm should come down. Your hips will twist forward, with your body coming forward after them. Snap your wrist at the last minute as you let go of the ball.

Cutting the Angle

If it’s a one-on-one breakaway situation, face it: You’re in big trouble. But there are a couple of things you can do that are a little more effective than crossing your fingers for luck. The first thing you should do is move slowly toward the dribbling player. Look what happens to the available goal area when you move forward.
